We're quite early in the process of getting everything ready for Baby, so there are plenty of baby things we don't have. We do have a crib and mattress,
a co-sleeper (small crib that attaches to our bed), and carseats, but many other
things still need to be purchased at this point. For some items we've registered at Babys "R" Us and the list is accessible through Amazon.com:
Jennifer Munson's Baby Registry Online
And for some additional items we've registered with One Step Ahead:
Baby Munson's Registry at One Step Ahead
But for many things we trust that our friends and families will be able to pick out on their own. Some general preferences:
- Clothing:
- We'd rather not have all blue for a boy or all pink for a girl, even after the baby is born. In fact, we'd love to dress the baby in bright primary colors and jewel tones, but we know they're difficult to find. So yellows and greens and reds and mixed colors that don't scream one gender or another will be appreciated.
- Cotton and other natural fibers are preferable to polyester.
- Toys:
- We prefer toys that don't rely on batteries, and particularly electronic noises for their entertainment value.
- Books (pasteboard and puffy ones for earlier and picture books for
later) are always welcome.
- We intend to breastfeed and use cloth diapers (at least at first), so bottles and disposable diapers won't be a priority for us.
- Other things we'll appreciate that you won't find on the registry:
- Receiving blankets, hooded towels, washcloths, etc.
- the food grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aide Mixer
- Other brands' all-in-one diapers (a terry diaper with an outside layer that acts like a diaper cover)
- Baby Bjorn "Little Potty"
- A humidifier that makes noise - we don't like the silent ones and aren't
sure which brands/models still make noise
